having to go to a secondary page (away from the actual calendar) to input availability is not user friendly and takes extraneous steps to block/open calendar and then go back to the calendar to SEE the full picture makes little sense.

Why should we implement this
because it makes better sense than navigating back and forth between separate areas to be able to make changes to the calendar. |
