Put shifts into open shifts if someone has booked approved vacation that conflicts

Currently in nimble if you are using a template to create a new week schedule and someone has approved vacation time for that week when you apply the template it puts the shifts that conflict with the vacation time into open shifts so it is clear they need to be given to someone else. In ximble the shifts just stay on the person with the note underneath advising time off. If you have a lot of staff it is really easy to miss this note and you may finish the schedule and it is only when you go to publish that week that the notification appears that the times conflict with vacation. This means wasted time going back and redoing the schedule based on the vacation.

Why should we implement this

It is frustrating to go back and correct and schedule you believed was finished and a waste of time to have to do this. The feature was available in Nimble and seeing as Nimble is being phased out and the switch the Ximble is forced features in Nimble should really be available in Ximble.

    Admin response

This adjustment is currently in development. We don't have an exact date for the release yet, however, it will be sometime in the next couple of weeks. Along with that, we'll improve conflict checks in general and not just when applying a template.

Copying one weeks schedule to the next didn't open up shifts where there were conflicts, nor were there alerts to the conflicts. I had to find the conflicts and move the shift to open myself. If this is the way the update is meant to handle (not handle) conflicted shifts, that is unfortunate and not what I am looking for in a scheduling software

We have released an update to the system with the adjustment in terms of how system checks for conflicts when adding shifts or applying templates. The system will work in the same way as this worked in Nimble when it comes to applying templates, as described in the original request.

Any news on this? I am just creating my February staff schedule and copied the week to the following week. No alerts to conflicts although there are. Again, I am having to go through the schedule to find conflicts instead of being alerted to them. Without a fix, February is the last schedule that I will be doing through Ximble.

The plan is to go live with this release on Tuesday, December 18th. Please do note that the plan might be re-adjusted for a day or two, should our quality assurance team find any issues with the release candidate prior to the release.
